The Gem of Nazaru

What is a Storyboard & how is it used in games?
 

Storyboards are a set of sequential images in order with annotions that show scene by scene an animation that is produced in the pre-production staghe before creating a motion picture.

For games it is used to put a story into images and for a game it will show the different levels of the game and possibly show the scene and goals from following the main character in the game.

What I am going to create.
I am going to create a graphic narration along with a series of storyboards for an intended game idea. I have begun to brainstorm ideas for this game idea in order to create a story in order for me to create a short sequence for this game. In order to create my short sequence I will be required to demonstrate my skills on sketching up characters, weapons, architectural designs and many more so I can put these together within a storyboard then use premiere pro in order to form these storyboards together and create a sequence.

The game that I am going to produce my graphic narration/storyboards for is a RPG and i'm takign a sequence where the main character comes across an arctic tribe and takes it upon himself to receive a quest from the tribe leader. This quest entails tracking down the legendary ice dragon Nazaru, a beast that is feared by many and possesses a rare gem stone within it's skull that is of great value to the tribe.

Overview of story

·         A tribe are travelling through a snowy desolate area, they specialise in bush craft

·         A member of the tribe is selected by the tribe leader to slay the dragon “Nazaru” in order to follow the prophecy.

·         The water dragon possesses a fiery sapphire within It’s skull and must be slayed as they need to claim this as it holds mysterious powers

·         He is ordered to travel across the waters to this island and retrieve the gem whilst also bringing back it’s eyeball

·         He travels via boat from a dock through a misty atmosphere.

·         The water dragon is surrounding the largest iceberg within the lake. And can be summoned through tapping on the steepest side of the iceberg.

·         The chosen one uses a series of weapons provided from his tribe to slay this dragon and successfully returns the eye and gem back to the tribe with the gem begin shown in the last scene as it begins to possess the tribe and cause abnormalities.
